The Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science is located inside of the Rutgers Institute for Health, Healthcare Policy, and Aging Research. The front of the building is located within a courtyard across from the Rutgers School of Nursing. As you enter the building, the Institute for Health is located through the doors on the left. The PETS Center can be accessed by taking the elevator to the third floor.

Driving Directions

From the New Jersey Turnpike (either direction): Take Exit 9 to Route 18 North. Follow route 18 and take the exit on the right side of the road toward NJ-27/New Brunswick Exits. Take the New Street Exit. Make a right on Joyce Kilmer Ave. Follow Joyce Kilmer Ave until you approach Bayard Street. Make a left onto Bayard Street (one way direction). The PETS Center will be on your right.

From the Garden State Parkway (either direction): Take Exit 129 to the New Jersey Turnpike and then follow the above directions.

From Route 1 (either direction): Follow Route 1 until arriving at the exit to Route 18 North in New Brunswick, and then follow the above directions.

From Route 287 (either direction): Take exit 10 to Easton Avenue. Follow Easton Avenue until it ends at Albany Street in New Brunswick (near the train station). Turn right onto Albany Street. Here, Albany Street will merge into French Street. Make a left onto Joyce Kilmer Ave and then make a left onto Paterson Street. The PETS Center will be on your left.

From the New Jersey Turnpike (either direction): Take Exit 9 to Route 18 North. Follow route 18 and take the exit on the right side of the road toward NJ-27/New Brunswick Exits. Take the New Street Exit. Make a right on Joyce Kilmer Ave. Follow Joyce Kilmer Ave until you approach Bayard Street. Make a left onto Bayard Street (one way direction). The PETS Center will be on your right.

Parking

There are many parking opportunities located near the center for our guests. Non-affiliated visitors may park in Rutgers lots after receiving a guest permit or by contacting the Center to arrange for parking. Alternatively, guests may utilize metered parking outside of the Center or one of the many parking decks located throughout the city. The closest parking decks are listed below:

Accessibility

The PETS Center is located within the heart of the city of New Brunswick, which has a well-developed transit system and serves as one of the central arteries to/from New York and Pennsylvania. Visitors can choose from a variety of public transportation options to access the center. Resources are listed below for your convenience.

Local Transportation:

  • Via Bus – Rutgers University operates the second-largest bus service in New Jersey. Guests using the campus bus service can most easily access the Center by using the EE and exiting at the George and Paterson St bus stop. Detailed descriptions of bus routes can be found by following this link to the Rutgers Department of Transportation website. The Rutgers buses have the capability to transport bicycles for your added convenience.
  • Via Bike or Foot – The Center is within 5 minutes walking distance of the New Brunswick Train Station and other major bus stops. Rutgers University and New Brunswick collaborated to make the city more bicyclist and pedestrian friendly.

Public Transportation:

  • Via Bus – New Jersey Transit (NJ Transit) operates the largest bus service in New Jersey and has regular bus service to the New Brunswick area. Guests can develop their own personal itinerary by following this link to the NJ Transit website.
  • Via Train – New Jersey Transit, SEPTA, and Amtrak all provide regular service to the New Brunswick Train Station. Train schedules can be found by following this link to the NJ Transit website.
  • Via Plane – Guests traveling to Newark Airport may take a train from Newark Airport to the New Brunswick Train Station. Additionally, there are many local car rental and personal transportation services available.
