Joanna Madej is a medical student at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School working under the guidance of Dr. Daniel B. Horton. She earned a B.A. in biology and chemistry from The University of Pennsylvania. During this time, she conducted research in immunology at the Perelman School of Medicine, publishing work that distinguished the distributions of B cell subsets by specific antibodies in mice and humans. Prior to medical school, Joanna was a clinical research coordinator at The University of California, San Francisco managing multiple genitourinary oncology clinical trials at the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and published work investigating genetic alterations in cancers across racial groups. Her current research interests include understanding acid-suppressive medications and the incidence of chronic childhood immunological diseases.
