About
Matt Beier is a medical student at Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School working under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Horton. He previously earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and an M.F.E. from UC Berkeley. Matt spent close to a decade working on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley before returning to academia for medical school. His research interests include understanding how perturbations in the microbiome affect a variety of illnesses and improving outcomes after gastrointestinal surgery. In his spare time, Matt enjoys photography, going on hikes with his wife and their fifteen pound Chiweenie, trying to make decent espresso at home, and mediocre attempts at fly fishing.
